- Do I need a permit for a mobile home in Florida?
- Yes. Placing or moving a mobile home requires the state transport permit plus an install permit from the destination county, and the set must be done by a licensed installer. Park-to-park, park-to-land, and new dealer homes all go through county permitting.
- How long does a mobile home permit take?
- A complete, consistent package clears in days to about three weeks in most Central Florida counties. An incomplete package can sit for months. Completeness on day one matters far more than which county you're in.
- What documents does the county need?
- Typically an installer worksheet, a site plan, a recorded Notice of Commencement, anchoring and skirting affidavits, a blocking plan, and septic (OSTDS) approval if the lot is on septic. We file the full package so it clears on the first pass.
